    Cons vs Liberals

    Conservative: I hate welfare moochers!
Liberal: Do you know corporations are making record profits?
Con: Good! Nothing wrong with money!
Liberal: And despite these profits, workers aren’t seeing shit. In turn, the taxpayer subsidizes the worker. Otherwise people will starve and die.
    Con: Lazy workers!
Liberal: No, you fucking myopic idiot. You’re paying more in taxes because places like Wal-Mart refuse to paying a living wage, even though they very well could. The taxpayer is the moral agent here; the corporation is the moocher that is taking advantage of our desire to not see people suffer and die. That is, they know we’ll prevent suffering, so they line the pockets of a few at the expense of many without fear that this system will ever change.

    Tumblr Artist

Jesus Perea | on Tumblr (b.1971, Spain)

Jesus Perea is a visual artist from Spain whose work is something completely open and changing. He used to work on painting and has focuse in digital and mixed media since 2 years. Focusing on the simplicity of form, the geometry, the space, the empty and the architecture, Jesus Perea is very interested in the dialog of the form and the stain, the rational and the random, the poetry and emotion that comes from it.He loves the surprise that appears in the process, the manipulation of the image to get somewhere that was unknown for him when he started that work. Through his artwork, Jesus Perea wish that the viewers feel connected with it through some kind of emotion. Please visit artist’s Facebook or follow his Tumblr for more work. Amazing Landscapes Featuring Rows of Symmetrical Trees

  8. Jury went okay! My arm/wrist/hand was still a bit shaky, so I didn’t produce as full of a sound as I know I’m capable of doing, but I was still generally satisfied. Looking forward to feedback!

Also, I’ve decided to have my Match Corps application considered for Chicago, rather than Lawrence. First, there are 20 spots left in Chicago and 10 in Lawrence, and the program in Chicago sounds super interesting. Fellows only tutor/mentor high school boys, and the goal is to combine successes in turning around violent behavior with improvements in academic performance. A study done by University of Chicago had successes with the reduction in violence, but haven’t seen academic gains. This opportunity appeals both to my interest in sociology/anthropology and education. And cities, for that matter. We’ll see!

  9. Last viola jury in about a half hour! My warm up went pretty well, and my viola sounded bomb in the practice room I snagged. The nerves are starting to fire up…I’m trying to positively channel it into my love of playing viola and producing beautiful sounds. The problem is that my bow usually gets shaky during performances. Arm weight. Arm weight. Arm weight. Rock it. Rock it. Rock it. The Hummel Fantasie isn’t that bad, and if I mess up the last page, oh well.

  10. Sugar-free challenge? Well I guess now that it’s Facebook-official, that means I have to do it.

  11. I have started my second and final Environmental Ethics paper. This will be a long, relatively sleepless next 48 hours.
